Certificate in Hospitality Skills

The Certificate in Hospitality Skills awarded by LSBF in Singapore is designed to provide students with a basic foundation for further studies towards a career in the Hospitality Industry. The modules are designed to address key areas for students entering the industry and are a mix of both theoretical and practical skills. The qualification also acts as a progression route towards the LSBF Diploma in International Hospitality Management.

The aims of this programme are to:

  • Mn of 3 GEC ‘O’ levels (C6 or better) or equivalent;

Modules

At the end of the course, the participants are expected to be able to use proper language in handling various contexts of situations that they might come across in the field of hospitality. Participants will also obtain knowledge of vocabulary needed in both spoken and written communication when dealing professionally with clients, and for further studies, and should have attained an equivalent standard to IELTS 5.0. The objective of Food and Beverage Service is to provide students with an understanding of quality service as measured by the standard of the hospitality industry in today’s world. In this module student will learn the effective and efficient ways to use the available resources, application of technology for transaction management. Students will also gain an understanding of different types of service and dynamics of foods in a variety of styles of restaurant and establishments. Learn more about the module here.

This module provides an overview to students on range and functions within the facilities department which is also known as Housekeeping department of hotels. This module will focus on all the housekeeping element which includes the practical skills required to satisfy guest stay in the hotel. Learn more about the module here.
