This programme enables learners to critically assess the management, economic, legal, social, professional, and ethical implications of data-intensive technologies while developing the academic and research skills necessary for further study. The programme also fosters the professional competencies required for a successful career in the IT industry, including effective communication, initiative, professionalism, problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Through a combination of academic study and practical application, the programme provides opportunities for learners to achieve a range of knowledge, skills, and professional learning outcomes.
Information Systems Modelling & Design
This module equips students with the skills and techniques needed to analyse, model, and design information systems. It also addresses key legal, social, ethical, and professional issues related to information systems development, providing a well-rounded foundation in the discipline.
Software Development
This module introduces students to the fundamentals of designing, implementing, and testing software applications using a high-level programming language. Taught from first principles, it requires no prior programming experience. It covers programming essentials, including variables, control structures, arrays, and procedural programming methodology. It then introduces object-oriented programming concepts such as objects, classes, and inheritance, providing a strong foundation for future software development.
Maths for Computing
This module builds a fundamental understanding of mathematical concepts and skills essential for studying and applying computer science. Beginning with basic arithmetic and algebraic principles, the module lays the groundwork for their application across various areas of computer science.
Computer Systems & Networks
This module provides a foundational understanding of computer architecture, exploring the relationship between hardware and software components in a computer system. It also introduces the fundamentals of computer networking, equipping students with essential knowledge for understanding and managing networked systems.
Web Technologies
This module enables students to understand the requirements for web applications and select appropriate tools and techniques for their design and development. Students will gain hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and testing web pages, as well as producing professional documentation to accompany their work.

This module will provide students with the opportunity to identify the skills, competencies and experience required for successful development to, and in, a range of potential future career areas.
Database Systems
This module provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge essential for designing, implementing, and applying database management systems. It fosters an understanding of database systems in information management and equips students with technical skills to deploy database management systems using various languages and tools.
Data Structures & Algorithms
This module builds on foundational programming skills, focusing on the distinction, application, and construction of advanced data structures such as queues, stacks, and trees. Students will also acquire conceptual knowledge of algorithm analysis, design, and implementation, including sorting and searching techniques, to solve complex computational problems.
Artificial Intelligence
This module investigates methods of state of the art and research trends in Artificial Intelligence and related topics. In particular, the module introduces AI from machine learning to biologically inspired AI systems. This provides students with knowledge of the principles and applications of AI systems, and to promote appreciation of the current state of development in this area.
Mental Wealth & Professional Fitness: Exploring Professional Development and Career Planning
This module equips students with the skills that are needed to make successful applications for jobs within the IT sector, provides students with opportunities to gain experience of working in the IT industry and apply their knowledge of information and communication technologies, gained elsewhere in their programmes, to the solution of a real-world business problem.
Business Intelligence Analysis
This module provides students with the knowledge of the current trends in business intelligence analysis techniques and related topics and expose students to the skills, techniques and tools that yield the current industrial standards for business analysis.
Programming for Data Science
This module provides students with the skills necessary to prepare, cleaning and data manipulation using commercial use programming language. The module builds on fundamental programming skills taught at level 4 and focuses on a programming language suited for data science tasks and the essential libraries within the programming language for completing data science tasks.
Big Data Infrastructure & Manipulation
This module builds upon the Level 5 Database module by giving students the opportunity to develop skills in access, manipulation, transformation, and analysis of complex data sets using SQL and familiar scripting languages.
Project Management
This module provides students with a thorough understanding of the role of ICT projects in the context of an enterprise environment. The students also expose the critical challenges in managing a project in meeting organizational objectives and satisfying the requirements of a project portfolio. It aims to develop a professional approach towards utilizing standard methodologies, tools and techniques in managing information systems projects.
Mental Wealth & Professional Fitness: Preparing the Future Graduate
Students will undertake a sizeable piece of individual academic work in an area of their own interest relevant to, and demonstrating technical skills acquired in, their programme of study. Students will normally need to research one or more academic topic areas and then apply their findings to the construction of a computer-based system.
Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Computing
This module provides students with practical knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Computing, covering key frameworks, technologies, cloud deployment models, enterprise portals, and collaboration tools. It also explores COBIT, ITIL, and emerging trends in information systems development.
Advanced Topics in Data Science and AI
This module takes you step-by-step through the latest machine learning architectures for processing big data sets for tasks such as classification, regression, recommendation systems and natural language processing. You will be taught the theory and fundamentals of these state-of-the-art techniques, while also learning how to setup, train and evaluate these architectures on public datasets and discuss the ethics of this medium.

Local/International Students Entry Requirements
Minimum Academic Requirement:
Local learners who have successfully completed either of the following:
- At least two passes in GCE ‘A’ Level; Must include one numerical subject such as Maths or Physics
- International Baccalaureate (25 points); including minimum of 15 points at higher level and must include Maths at higher
level - Local Polytechnic Diploma in any field.
- LSBF Foundation Diploma or International Foundation Diploma in Business and IT or
- LSBF Foundation Diploma (e-learning) or International Foundation Diploma in Business and IT (e-learning) or
Foreign learners who have successfully completed either of the following:
- Completion of Year 12 High School Qualification or equivalent qualification from respective home countries; Must include
Maths or Computer Science or another relevant subject. - Completed International Baccalaureate (25 points); including minimum of 15 points at higher level and must include Maths
