Dr Nisha Kohli, Phd in Corporate Governance and Valuations, is also a chartered accountant with over 17 years of international practical, training and consulting experience in corporate finance, governance and accounting. Dr Nisha has expertise in corporate governance, financial analysis, balanced scorecard, risk management and fraud prevention. She worked as a Director for a Sri Lankan real estate company and was a key person in implementing ERP, internal controls and process reengineering where she turnaround the business from loss making to 50 M LKR profits in a period of just 6 months. She is currently working as an Executive Director at Nichefin Consulting and Bizmerlin. She also specialises in business valuations and conducts financial due diligence to help companies raise finance through debt or equity and supports organisations in improving their profitability and liquidity.
Dr Nisha has been training professionals, managers and leaders in the areas of finance, strategy, governance and fraud and risk management regionally in India, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore and Australia. also developed course material and trained chartered accountants in a course on cross-border valuations for The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Her client list includes MNCs, banks, public sector undertakings, and post graduate students of universities.
Dr Nisha was awarded Corporate Governance Research Scholar award in 2008 from International Corporate Governance Network for her outstanding research in the field of Corporate Governance. She has published a number of corporate governance case studies and research articles in internationally refereed journals. Her case on Governance Failure at Satyam has been one of the top 20 bestselling cases at Harvard Business Publishing. She recently completed a paper on Nissan Corporate Governance Failure which has been accepted for publication by HBSP.
