The Security Architecture and Controls course aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills in Security Architecture. Learners will be competent to design security architectures and controls; by introducing security principles into the design of architectures to mitigate the risks posed by new technologies and business practices.

This course will provide an overview of the actual design and specification of applicable security components, along with the incidental control measures, to meet defined business security needs. Upon successful completion of this modular course, learners can choose a career to become a Senior Security Engineer/Security Engineer, Associate Security Analyst, Software Engineer, Sys Ops Engineer, Security Architect, CISO, and more. This course transfers the knowledge, skills, and abilities related to Security Architecture and controls.

 

Please choose one of the following options:

4.5 days, 9 AM - 6 PM (Monday - Friday). 9 hours/day *4 days + 3 hours of Assessment.

2 weekends (Saturday and Sunday) + 3 hours of Assessment.

14.5 days - 2 weeks, 7 PM - 10 PM (Monday - Friday).

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

1) Examine various security threats and its implications on IT systems vulnerabilities.

2) Differentiate various components of security systems and architectures.

3) Analyse the components of the security system blueprint for a robust and coherent security architecture.

4) Classify primary security system integration including protection profile and security targets of security system integration.

5) Develop a robust and coherent security architecture by integrating security solutions and design principles.

6) Design new enhanced security systems architecture using relevant techniques.

7) Examine the system architecture adopting relevant evaluation guidelines against security requirements.

8) Develop a control plan to test a variety of system security tests with the appropriate guidelines.

9) Examine modifications in the security control to protect organization assets using relevant guidelines.

 

The assumed skills and knowledge for this course are as follows:

  • Aged between 21 years old or above;
  • Minimum must have ONE GCE “O” Level;
  • Able to read, listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) Literacy Level 6;
  • Able to count with a proficiency equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) Numeracy Level 6;
  • Have minimum 1-year working experience in system security administration.

Learners may be required to submit the relevant documents conforming to the pre-requisites for the course as stated above where necessary, if they do not meet the pre-requisites.

If the learner does not meet the entry requirement, the learner would be rejected from the course.

This accreditation enables Singaporeans and Singapore PR holders to get a part of their course funded by the SSG. Subjected to the eligibility and funding caps, the funding support is up to 90% for Singaporeans and up to 80% for Singapore PR holders.

To receive funding from SSG, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Pass the course
  • Achieve a minimum of 75% of the attendance
  • Must not be barred from receiving government grants
