LSBF Singapore participates in 2nd GUS Academic Summit

In March, LSBF Singapore virtually participated in the 2nd GUS Academic Summit that was held at UPES’ Kandoli Campus in Dehradun.

The GUS Academic Summit was a platform for all educators across GUS to share their knowledge and experience in their teaching and learning methodologies.

Dr Preethi Kesavan, Head of School of Advanced Technology and Digital Media, did a virtual presentation on the ‘Application of Blended Learning and Hybrid Learning for Innovations in Teaching and Learning Methodologies in LSBF, Singapore’ during the virtual summit.

The virtual summit provided Dr Preethi Kesavan with an opportunity to network online with various university personnel from across the GUS network. Attendees listened and discussed how to advance our academic objectives, teaching and learning practices with the GUS academic community. Blended learning was one of the key elements discussed as a way to reach the goal of transformation for future-proof education.

Dr Preethi Kesavan said: “A significant quality of blended learning is that it cultivates the skills of self-directed independent learning. Blended learning is student centred and allows students to take control of their learning and be independent, developing emotional intelligence, which is a crucial skill required in students’ future workplace. The blended learning approach has influenced learners in LSBF to solve problems through collaborative learning and critical thinking.”
