Transfer and Withdrawal Policy

London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) undertakes to ensure that through the implementation of its application policies, all students are recruited into the appropriate courses, according to their needs, aspirations and that they are mindful of their chances of success.

The Transfer and Withdrawal Policy is clearly communicated to all students via the Website, Student Contract, Student Handbook, Orientation Slides and Notice Boards.

It is acknowledged, however, that despite our best efforts during counselling and induction, some students will find that the course they enrolled for is not suitable for them.

All applications for transfer/withdrawal from a course will be given due consideration and may be granted subject to the following:

  • Payment of any additional fee incurred
  • Transfer/withdrawal does not impact student pass validity. An application for transfer/withdrawal from a course will not be granted if a student’s student pass status will be affected
  • Extenuating circumstances due to sudden illness, emergency operation etc.
  • Other legitimate reasons

All transfer/withdrawal requests will be subject to the LSBF’s approval.

Timeframe
LSBF shall respond to all requests within a reasonable time frame which are as follows:-

  • Students (both local and international) will be notified of the outcome for their transfer request within seven (7) days from the receipt of the transfer request.
  • Apart from the LSBF’s approval of the transfer request, student’s Pass-holders will be notified of the outcome of their Student’s Pass application within four (4) to six (6) weeks from the receipt of the transfer of course request (this may vary and depends on the ICA’s processing period).

Students wishing to transfer to another course will be required to pay the difference in fees, should the tuition fee of the course that the student wishes to transfer to be of a higher value. In the event that the student transfers to a course with a lower tuition fee, the difference in fees will not be refunded.

An administrative fee of S$50 per paper is applicable for successful transfer (applicable only to transfer within LSBF). In the event of certain exceptional circumstances, a waiver of the administrative fee will be considered on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of the Programme Management Personnel.

LSBF will not guarantee that all requests for transfers will be granted, as students must meet certain entry criteria and admission deadlines applicable to the course the student wishes to transfer to. Whenever possible, a student shall be allowed to transfer immediately into the alternative course. Where the deadline for transfer to the new course has already expired, the student will be advised to delay the transfer until the next available intake.

Students who wish to be transferred to an alternative programme offered by LSBF will be considered on merit and have to comply with the prevailing terms and conditions of visa and course admission deadlines. Class transfer is subject to seat availability.

LSBF requires all transfers or withdrawals to be applied through written applications and will not accept any verbal requests.

The percentage of fees refundable is based on the total tuition fee payable.

LSBF will proceed to endorse and process any transfer that is deemed appropriate and to be in the best interest of the students. Should LSBF believe that the transfer request is not in the best interest of the student, the Programme Management Personnel will counsel the student as to the appropriateness of their decision. If the student decides to proceed with the transfer, LSBF will not bear any responsibility for any impact the transfer may have on the Student Pass status or any additional fee or charges that may be incurred in respect of the transfer.

For students who request to transfer from LSBF to another school, their transfer request will be processed as a withdrawal request and the terms of the refund policy shall apply accordingly.

Note: Withdrawal applies when the student wishes to discontinue with the course. It does not apply to Suspension or Expulsion for Disciplinary reasons. In such cases the relevant policies apply.
