Operational Finance in Tourism & Hospitality

This unit covers understanding the concepts of financial management and accounting within a hospitality or tourism business; controlling the finances and managing the cash flow and Manage the profitability of a department within a hospitality or tourism business.

Human Resource Management in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry

This unit covers understanding the principles of human resource (HR) management in the tourism and hospitality industry; leading teams and developing human resources policies.

Strategic Marketing in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry

This unit covers contributing to the development of marketing and sales strategies in the tourism and hospitality industry; optimising marketing communications, building strategic partnerships, new product development and understanding the purpose and components of an organisational business plan.

Customer Relationship Management in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry

This unit covers developing a customer service strategy in the tourism and hospitality industry; managing customer relationships (CRM) and evaluating customer service.

Course Intakes

Modular

Minimum Academic Entry Requirement
  • Entry at Level 5 Diploma in Hospitality Management (QCF) is conditional on successful completion of Level 4 Diploma in Hospitality Management (QCF) or formal upper-secondary education or a duly approved equivalent;
  • For mature entry route: Minimum age of 21 plus appropriate level of relevant work experience; will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, which may include interviews and/or further documentation (e.g. company letter or letter of appointment).

Minimum English Language Entry Requirement

  • Students must have achieved a grade C6 or better in English language O level, or
  • Equivalent qualification e.g. IELTS 5.5
  • Those without IELTS 5.5 are required to pass the LSBF Advanced English Course.
  • All international students for whom English is not their first language must provide evidence of their linguistic ability prior to receiving an offer for this course.

Exemptions

Students, who have other qualifications, will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Assessment & Award of Diploma

To be awarded the Level 5 Diploma in Hospitality Management (QCF), students need to pass all the 7 modules in the programme.
